Obituary of Patricia Jay Belk
Lugoff – A service to celebrate the life of Patricia Jay Belk, 79, will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 30, 2024 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
Mrs. Belk, wife of the late Claude LeRoy Belk, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Prisma Health Richland. Born in Fort Benning, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Ruben H. Jay and Genevieve Galloway Jay. She retired from Union Camp where she worked in lost prevention. She was an avid Gamecock fan and enjoyed reading. Mrs. Belk had a kind and loving spirit and she adored her family especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sheila B. Branham (Caliph) of Elgin; daughter-in-law, Wendi Belk of Union, Ky.; brothers, Bill Jay (Pam) of Wake Forest, Richard “Ricky” Jay (Menerva) of Lugoff, and Randy Jay (Debi) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Janna Cunningham (Ben), Taylor Stevens (Justin), Caliph Jay Smith (Zach), Jon Belk Jr. (Sarah), Emma Belk, and Jackson Belk; and great grandchildren, Felix Cunningham, Wren Stevens, Maddox Belk, and Tatum Belk.
She was predeceased by her son, Jon Belk, Sr.
