Obituary of Mable Belton Smith
Mable Belton Smith was born on March 08, 1934 and was called home to be with the Lord on November 01, 2024. Born in Lee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Irene Wallace. She moved to White Plains, NY in 1961, before moving to Washington, DC in 1978 where she lived for 12 years before moving to Fayetteville, NC in 1990 and then she moved to her final residence in Camden, SC in 2021 where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Bishopville, SC. She was a member of Dove Chapel AME Church in Fayetteville, NC, where she was also on the church usher board.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Sharon Smith (Otis) of Camden, SC, Vincent Smith (Jaquelyn) of Lexington, SC, Elinora Wallace (Michael) of Washington, SC, Grace Burns (Howard) of Bishopville, SC, Rosa Williams of Sebring, Fl; step-daughter, Tracy Smith (George) of Jacksonville, FL; 18 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and special friends, Mildred Walker of Lake City, SC and Cecilia Hall of Fayetteville, NC.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Earlene Blythers; sons, Victor Smith and Hayward Blythers, Jr.; sister, Marie Pickett; and grandchildren, Deric Blythers and Lisa Williams .
A homegoing service honoring the life of Mrs. Smith will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church, Bishopville, SC. With burial to follow in Corbett Cemetery, Bishopville, SC. The family will receive friends, Saturday, November 09, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC. The Rev. Gregory Jackson will be officiating.
