Obituary of William McIntyre
LUGOFF – Funeral service for William Stephen McIntyre, 60, will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church Don Poeta Family Life Center with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Mr. McIntyre passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014. Born in Abbeville, S.C., he was the son of Ruth Kelley Corn and the late William Dalton McIntyre. He served as Fire Chief of Lugoff Fire Department for 20 years until his retirement in 2007 and prior to being chief he volunteered with the fire department. He was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church where he was currently serving as the Pastor’s Assistant.
Mr. McIntyre had a passion for Southern Gospel Music. He sang with New Vision for 20 years and continued to sing with the praise team at El-Bethel Faith Community Church.
Surviving are his wife, Kay Reynolds McIntyre; mother, Ruth Corn of Lugoff; son, Joey McIntyre (Chris) of Lexington; daughter, Jessica Moxie (Evan) of West Columbia; sister, Lynn Rabon of Roanoke, Texas; and grandchildren, Luke McIntyre, Reagan McIntyre and Brayden Moxie. He was predeceased by a brother, Timothy McIntyre.
