Obituary of Katie Lee Rabon Pate

LUGOFF – A funeral service for Katie Lee Rabon Pate, 93, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be Springvale Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

     Mrs. Pate, wife of the late Gary Pate, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Born in Lugoff, she was a daughter of the late Frank Rabon, Sr. and Nellie Branham Rabon. Mrs. Pate attended El-Bethel Faith Community Church. She was a Summary Court Judge and enjoyed music, playing the piano and singing. Mrs. Pate was once a member of the gospel quartet, The Councilors. She also enjoyed taking senior trips with Christian Tours.

    Surviving are her daughters, Wanda Catoe of Lugoff, Tonya Watts (Jacky) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Ron Catoe, Rhonda Richardson (Brian), Hollie McCluney (Brad), Cody Watts (Kendall); sister, Sandra Hall (Bruce) of Lugoff; 7 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Rabon, Jr.; sister, Leila McKenzie; father of her children, Irby H. Walker; and a special companion, Pat Patterson.
