BISHOPVILLE – Funeral services for Ella Bertha Steen Douglas, 78, wife of the late Carson Anderson Douglas, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Freddie Wilson and the Rev. Jerry Gardner will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Douglas passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014. Born in Chesterfield County, she was a daughter of the late Flynn and Minnie Gainey Steen. Mrs. Douglas was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and homemaker, as well as a cancer survivor. She enjoyed candle making, bird watching, and doing puzzles. Surviving are her daughters, Gloria Morgan (Don) of Ridgeway, Sylvia Noll of Columbia, Paula McCoy (Derrick) of McBee; sons, Johnny Douglas (Sylvia) of Bishopville, Walter Douglas (Elizabeth) of Bishopville, G. Michael Douglas of Cassatt; sister, Irene Gainey of Orangeburg; a brother, David Steen (Marilyn); 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Buck, Sam, Richard, and Mac Steen; and sisters, Viola McGougan, Pauline Steen, and Rosa Lee Steen.
