Ms. Daisy, Jason and Terry,
The news of Nelson's passing touched a lot of people .... some of us, y'all probably do not know. He joined our forum a while back and immediately became a favorite .... he had a way of bringing laughter to our lips and strengthening our faith all at the same time. He will be missed by many.
I have now doubt that Nelson is in Heaven. My prayers are that each of you will find comfort and peace in knowing that. Though his life's journey with you is over now, may memories of that journey always be with you.

Nelson and I never met, but we talked via email for a long time. I was looking forward to meeting him at the hunt we were working on for the forum we both frequented. I loved to read his posts and his prayers for others who were hurting in one way or another.
I look forward to the day we will meet in heaven. May God be with you and all the family and friends, and may He carry us all through this valley.

Daisy, you and your family are in my heart and in my prayers. Nelson was like a second dad to me growing up. I will never forget the impact he made on me growing up. He never gave up on me like I often gave up on myself. He encouraged me to keep singing and to not let things in life get me down even though he knew how rough they were for me. I know that now he will be with my grandma singing in Heaven. God bless you... Just remember that even at your time of loss Heaven is gaining an amazing man.

Here is a poem for the family:
Miss Me But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not to long. Remember the love that once was shared; Miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we must all take, and each must go alone. It is all a part of the Master's plan; A step on the road home. When
you are lonely and sick of heart, go to friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me but let me go.
I love the family and my prays are with the family and friends at this time
Love Fay Rhodes-Keaton

Good memories won't make it hurt any less, but they will remind you of how much you are blest! I have many good memories of time spent with you & Nelson & the boys. Nelson was a great guy! I remember him coming to help me with a hot water leak once. My favorite memory is of hearing him preach for the first time. It was obvious that his life had been changed by Jesus Christ! Knowing that, you can have peace today!

Daisy, our hearts go out to you at this time of loss. Your are in our prayers and thoughts. Nelson was so instrumental in getting Heart of the Valley Baptist Church started, it would not have happened without his help and prodding. I will always be grateful for our times together, the long talks late into the night. He was a good friend and a great pastor. He will be missed but I know that he is dancing, singing and shouting for the Lord with all the dear ones who have gone before him. Remember, I am here for you when you need an ear to listen, or a shoulder to cry on, or someone to reminisce with; I'm just an e-mail or phone call away. God be with you and keep you! I wish I could be there in person but know my heart is with you and your family.
