LUGOFF – Funeral service for Shelby L. McKay, 73, will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dean Reynolds will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church, Ridgeway. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 647 Lachicotte Rd, Lugoff, S.C. 29078. Mrs. McKay was born into life on May 1, 1941 to Charlie James and Lois Holden Baker. She was born into eternity on December 20, 2014. She retired from the Lexington County School District and was a member of Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, bible study and playing the piano. Surviving are her husband, Woodrow McKay; daughter, Gail Coulter of Lexington; son, Chris McKay of Lexington; sisters, Iva Mae Knippe and Doris Smith; brothers, Connie Baker and Franky Baker; and grandchildren, Brandi Coulter and Sarah McKay. She was predeceased by brothers, L.C. Baker, Grady Baker and James Baker.
