LUGOFF – Funeral services for Mildred Miles McDonald, 82, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Eric Boone, Rev. Doug Whitfield and the Rev. Paul Miles will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund. Mrs. McDonald, wife of late Ernest T. McDonald, Sr., passed away Monday, January 12, 2015. Born in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Callie Starling Miles. Mrs. McDonald was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she loved attending the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class Mrs. McDonald loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her flowers, baking, and painting. She was a caretaker for family and friends in need. Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Goff (Benjamin) of Elgin, Marian “Tinker” Sheehan (Toby) of Lugoff, Nancy Jane Short (Timmy) of May Meadows, VA; 7 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; son, Ernest T. McDonald, Jr.; and siblings, Dorothy Dennis, Edmond Miles, and Janie Addis.
