Obituary of Edna F Brown
LUGOFF - A funeral service for Edna Flowers Brown will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Rowan A.R.P. Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Phillip McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rowan Presbyterian Church, 818 Ridgeway Rd., Lugoff, S.C., 29078.
Mrs. Brown, wife of the late Roy Harold Brown Sr., died Saturday, April 05, 2008. Born in Dovesville, S.C., October 22, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Robert Bealer Flowers and Annie Montague Flowers.
Edna was a retired registered nurse; a graduate of Kings County Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a member of Kings County Alumni Association. She was a member of S.C. Nursing Association; a member of Pilot Club, Hartsville, S.C.; and an active member of United Daughters of Confederacy, John D. Kennedy Chapter, Camden, S.C.
She was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church, Lugoff, S.C. and the Morning Circle (W.O.C.)
Mrs. Brown was one of six daughters and a son born to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bealer Flowers.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Getsinger of Charleston, S.C.; daughters, Carolyn Whiting and Susan Claxton; sons, Robert Brown and Roy Brown; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The family feels very blessed to have had mother with us for 93 years. We extend our sincere gratitude for your prayers at this time of bereavement.
