MELDRIM – Funeral service for Purvis Willie Morgan, 68, will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, Elgin with burial to follow in Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. Steve McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, 200 Donehoo Street, Statesboro, Ga. 30458. Mr. Morgan passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Curtis Willis Morgan and Ruth Branham Morgan. He was an outdoorsman with a great sense of humor who had an incredible love for his family and friends. Surviving are his son, Tony Morgan (Beth) of Elgin; brothers, J.C. Morgan of Elgin and Stephen “Rusty” Morgan (Robin) of Meldrim, Ga.; brother-in-law, Frank Wilson of West Columbia; and 2 grandchildren, Brittany Morgan and Katelyn Morgan. He was predeceased by brother, Benny Morgan; and sister, Earline Wilson.
