Obituary of Wylie Lee Vaughan
CAMDEN– Funeral Services for Wylie Lee Vaughan, 81, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers funeral home.
Mr. Vaughan passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. Born in Cassatt, he was a son of the late Romie Wells and Mollie Watkins Vaughan. He served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and the American Legion Post 17, and a former member of the Lugoff Fire Department. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, gardening and working on his tractor.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Ann Baxley Vaughan; daughters, Glenda Cook and Vickie McCathern; sons, Mitchell Vaughan, Myron Vaughan and Mark Vaughan; step-daughter, Cindy Palmertree; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Marlon David Vaughan; daughter, Caroline Gwen Vaughan; brothers, James Marvin Vaughan and Eldridge Bealer Vaughan; and sisters, Edith Melton Truesdale and Edna Marie McCraney.
