LUGOFF – Funeral service for Levi Gadson, 67, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church. Mr. Gadson passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015. Born in Lugoff, S.C., he was the son of the late Moses Gadson and Lizzie Mae Chavis Gadson. He retired from the City of Columbia Water Department, and was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, restoring old cars and watching westerns. Surviving are his children, Patrick Gadson, Vanessa Gumbs (Henry L.) and Levi “Jay” Gadson Jr.; sisters, Moszell Gillyard (Roosevelt), and Blandina Hinton all of Lugoff, Patricia Robinson, Paulette Gadson and Kathleen Gadson all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and 2 grandchildren, Terrence Norris and Ty-Quan Norris. He was predeceased by brothers, Harry Gadson, Randolph Gadson, Lazarus “Pie” Gadson, Rickey Gadson and Stanford Gadson
