Dear Linda
We praise Our Lord and Saviour this Easter for the steadfast example in service and in love shining in you and in our Brother Jim.
We know that all of us in the Class Of 70 join in prayer in heartfelt sorrow at this loss of a life nobly concluded.
It is very much as Jim himself read in May 1970 at our Baccalaureate service: that we put on "the full armor of God."
Bless and keep you

To the family and friends of Jim McHone,
I have lost a West Point classmate and dear friend whom I will miss terribly. Jim and I became great friends after we moved to South Carolina in 1998. We shared time together and even shared season football tickets at Clemson University. Best of all, Jim frequently hosted the Class of 1970 Happy Daze band when they performed in the Columbia area. The band enjoyed sharing time with Jim and Linda; using the pool, traveling out to Lake Wateree, and sharing many Cadet stories of the old days. Over the past seven years as Jim fought valiantly against his cancer, he displayed in a profound manner the ideals of West Point. He was courageous and inspired all of us who knew him and knew what he was experiencing. Never a complaint...always positive and a warrior until the end. God bless you Jim and rest in peace; you have earned that.

To The Jim McHone Family,
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend and high school classmate. We have been praying for you and your entire family during this difficult time.
We were honored to know this kind, noble, and gentle man. He was deeply respected by all of us who knew him from the class of 1966 at Mount Airy High School. He will be sorely missed, however, we rejoice with you knowing he is safe in the arms of his Master no longer suffering any of the ills of our mortal bodies. We know this will be a great source of comfort for you. We will all continue to pray for God's peace, strength and abiding presence to help you in the days ahead.
In
Christ's love,
