ELGIN – A memorial service for James Michael Gleaton, 64, will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, S.C. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Gleaton passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015. Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Hammond L. and Evelyn Loleta Hughes Gleaton. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Brown Gleaton; children, Tabatha G. Grimes, Jamie G. Gadihe, Thomas C. Williams, Joseph Evans, Nikki Tucker and Malcum Byrd; brothers, Danny Gleaton, Tony Gleaton and Ronnie Gleaton; sister, Pamela Russell; and 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Evelyn Wimberly, H.L. Gleaton and Shirley Ansell.
