LUGOFF – Funeral service for James Louis Brasington, 70, will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 am – 12:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Brasington passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Robert Franklin and Ruby Ledell Faulkenberry Brasington. He served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont. Mr. Brasington was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, yardwork and watching his grandchildren, nieces and nephews play ball. Surviving are his wife, Linda Jean Wertz Brasington; sons, James Dennis Brasington of West Columbia, Christopher Louis Brasington (Crystal) of Lancaster, Angela Melissa Samuel of Camden, Joseph Lee Brasington of Columbia, and Jennifer Lynn Brasington of Lugoff; brothers, George Brasington (Joyce) of Kershaw and Richard Brasington of Lancaster; sister, Alice Peach (Howard) of Lancaster; sister-in-law, Cathy Brasington; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Brasington.
