CAMDEN – Funeral service for William Charlton “Bill” Murphy, 74, will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Christian Outreach Church with burial to follow in St. Andrews Church of God, Red Hill. The Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to New Life Christian Outreach Church, 411 Hwy 601 South, Lugoff, S.C. 29078. Mr. Murphy passed away on Monday Morning, May 25, 2015 at KershawHealth. Born in Greer, he was the son of the late J.C. Murphy Jr. and Frankie Beeks Murphy. He served in the United States Army and was a Mason and a member of the Jamil Shrine Temple. He was an avid Gamecock Fan and Braves Baseball Fan. Bill valued the time spent with his family. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Celeste Joyner Murphy; children, William C. Murphy Jr. (Suzette) of Lancaster, Douglas Floyd Morrow Sr. (Sherry) of Lugoff, Wanda Celeste Anderson (Gene) of Camden, Tonia Kitchen (Tony) of Camden, and Crystal Elaine Morrow Wall (Ben) of Camden; sister, Rhoda Byrd; brothers, Jimmy Murphy, Bobby Murphy, Harold Murphy and Dan Murphy; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Joanne Murphy; great-grandson, Nicholas Morrow; and brother, Bobby Murphy.
