Obituary of Harold Moak
ELGIN – Funeral services to celebrate the life of Harold Denver Moak, 83, will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. George Cashwell will officiate. The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate a graveside service. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Men’s Fellowship at 2290 Heath Pond Rd, Elgin, SC 29045.
Mr. Moak passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015. Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late Lexie “Tater” and Zemmie Goff Moak. Mr. Moak served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Matthews during the Korean War. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he cut the grass for over 30 years. Mr. Moak was also a member of the Half Day Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and yardwork.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Clemmie Brown Moak; sons, Steve Moak and Mike Moak (Lisa); daughter, Pam Delk (Randy); daughter-in-law, Debbie Moak; brother, Kenneth Moak (Edith); 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Harold Anthony Moak; brother, Ernie Moak; and a sister, Mae Rose.
