Obituary of Agnes Griggs Coker
LUGOFF - Funeral service for Agnes Griggs Coker, 79, will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Palmetto Chapter.
Mrs. Coker, wife of the late Clyde Coker, died Thursday, November 22, 2007. Born in Cheraw, she was the daughter of the late John Murray and Ethel Cross Griggs. She retired after 25 years from Belk Department Store in Camden where she was the Credit Manager. She enjoyed entertaining friends, gardening, and walking.
She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Alice C. (Robert T.) Lee of Lugoff; brother, John E. Griggs of Orange County, Calif.; grandchildren, Rebecca Lee (Travis) Griggs of Lugoff, Beth Lee (Bryan) Moeller of Lugoff, and Tom Coker (Monique) Lee of Camden; great-granddaughter, Amelia Lee; step great-grandchildren, Kyle Griggs and Megan Griggs; brother-in-law, Leroy Driggers of Wallace, S.C.; sister-in-law, Donnie Coker of Dayton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
The family expresses a special thanks to Nancy Branham, the staff at The Haven in the Summit, Columbia, and Gentiva Hospice, for their loving care.
