LUGOFF – Funeral services for Tony Archie Jackson, 85, will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 pm at the Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Jackson passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Born in Marshall County, AL., he was a son of the late Archie Green and Georgia Pursley Jackson. Mr. Jackson was originally from Birmingham, AL and later spent many years in Cincinnati, OH, before moving to Lugoff. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening, and watching baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Ruby Hosey Jackson; son, David Jackson of Camden; daughters, Barbara Skeen (Larry) of Lugoff, Sandra Marshall of Houston, TX, Cheryl Covington (Rick) of Hillsboro, OH; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Vida Helms; and brothers, Boyd Jackson, Sr. and Quinton Jackson.
