CASSATT – Funeral service for Wayne Broughton, 62, will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Westville. The Rev. Tim Broughton will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Broughton died on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Born in Camden, he was the son of Annie Evelyn Cook Cassidy and the late Hollis Z. Broughton, Jr. His life’s passion was restoring vintage automobiles. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Jean Nelson Broughton; mother Annie Cassidy (Bill) of Cassatt; daughter, Amanda Broughton Lucas (Thomas) of Kershaw; step-children, Timothy Jordan (Stacie) of Camden and Joy Stokes (Ray) of Bishopville; brothers, Donnie Broughton (Renee) of Camden and Tim Broughton (Peggy) of Cassatt; step-brothers, Darrell Cassidy (Brenda) of Cassatt, and Randy Cassidy of Cassatt; step-sisters, Tammy Johnson (Perry) of McBee and Robin Williams of Camden; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a step-brother, Freddy Cassidy.
