Obituary of Harold L. Tyler
LUGOFF – Funeral service for Harold Louis Tyler, 64, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Matt Galloway will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1056 Hwy 1, Lugoff, S.C. 29078.
Mr. Tyler passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Born in Horry County, he was the son of Clara Fama Tyler and the late Jesse James Tyler. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 9/16/1968-11/29/1974 with the 5th Fleet on Multiple Mediterranean Cruises. His travels took him all over the European Continent. He graduated from Midlands Technical College. His career entailed warehouse management.
Mr. Tyler was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He adored all of his grandchildren, spending time with his family riding motorcycles, water sports, being in the mountains and at the beach. He took pride in being an extremely hard worker his entire life for his family.
Surviving his wife of 44 years, Barbara Anna Dillard Tyler; mother, Clara Fama Tyler; son, Chadwick Tyler (Michelle) and their children, Blake Bruckmann, Cody Tyler, Jonathan Tyler, and Bradley Bruckmann; son, Christopher Tyler and his son, Dekota Hogan; daughter, Michelle Siddons and her children, Jade Siddons and Aiden Siddons; brother, Louis Tyler; sisters, Geraldine Tyler and Carolyn Foxworth (Stephen); sister-in-law, Mary Tyler; nieces Angela Tyler (Jason) and Cecilia Foxworth; nephew, Anthony Tyler; great niece, Braelyn; and great-nephews, Windom and Noah. He was predeceased by brother, James Windom Tyler.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Franklin McGuire with USC Pulmonary Service, Dr. Olajide Balogun with Apex Care, Dr. Joseph Hollands with Columbia Heart, and Caris Hospice Care, Chaplin Dan and Tina Johnson for their loving care given to Harold during his illness.
