ELGIN – A memorial service for Lonnie Preston Cooper, 65, will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Relay for Life, Kershaw Count, 647 Lachicotte Rd, Lugoff, SC 29078. Mr. Cooper died Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Born in Boone County, W.V., he was a son of the late Anderson and Hazel McCoy Cooper. Mr. Cooper enjoyed working on cars. Surviving are his sons, Lonnie Cooper (Lori), Ryan Cooper (Nikke), Scott Cooper (Jessica), Charles Cooper (Paula); daughter, Gerri Perales; brother, Randy Cooper (Sharon); sister, Diana Jones; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Roger Cooper and Donnie Cooper.
