LUGOFF – Funeral service for Joseph Lee Brasington, 31, will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett and the Rev. George Brasington will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Brasington died on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late James Louis and Linda J. Wertz Brasington. A 2002 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School, he was employed with Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Best Buy. He enjoyed golf, soccer and spending time with his family and girlfriend. Surviving are his mother, Linda J. Wertz Brasington of Lugoff; girlfriend, Mary Thompson; brothers, James Dennis Brasington of West Columbia and Christopher Louis Brasington (Crystal) of Lancaster; and sisters, Angela Melissa Samuel of Camden and Jennifer Lynn Brasington of Florence. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by grandparents, Frank and Ruby Brasington of Lancaster and John and Jean Wertz of Warren, Pa.
