CAMDEN – Funeral service for Janice Christmas Estridge, 71, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Camden with burial to follow in Timrod Baptist Church Cemetery in Bethune. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mrs. Estridge passed away at home on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Born in Dillon, she was the daughter of the late Forrest Lafon and Mattie Wallace Christmas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Camden. She volunteered with Make-A-Wish and enjoyed painting, beach music, shagging and most of all spending time with her family. She valued friendship and enjoyed keeping in contact with classmates and those friends from the past. Surviving are her husband of 21 years, Edwin Wilson Estridge Jr.; daughter Kelly White Kercher (Edward J. Kercher Jr.) of Mt. Pleasant; mother-in-law, Iris M. Estridge; step-children, Edwin M. Estridge (Michelle) of Chapin and Ashton W. Estridge (Nikki) of Lexington; grandson, Edward J. “Jack” Kercher III; and step-grandchildren, Evan, Kylie, Harper, Sophie, Silas and Sullivan Estridge. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Christmas.
