COLUMBIA – Jesse Carlisle “JC” Lee, Jr., 66, went to his final resting place Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in Lugoff, surrounded by his family, after an extended illness. He donated his body to the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine where his remains will be used to train medical students, followed by a cremation and a placard placed in his honor on the grounds of USC. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Jesse was born June 21, 1949, in Columbia, a son of the late Jesse “Carlisle” Lee, Sr. and Nettie J. Lee, both of Columbia. Jesse was a roofer by trade most of his life, and later retired from the S.C. Dept. of Transportation. He is survived by his children, Dee Wiggins (Jesse) of Summerville, Justin Lee of Lugoff, Jesse Lee III of Columbia; grandchildren, DeeJay Wiggins (Jessica) of Ladson, Payton Lee of Lugoff; brothers, Gerald Lee of Columbia, Richard Lee (Kathy) of West Columbia; sisters, Edna Ford (Donald) of Texas, Carlene Auker (Jeff) of Lugoff, Nancy Huselton of West Columbia, Jeanette Birchmore of Lugoff; sister-in-law, Linda Lee of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Paul and Charles Lee, Honorable mention: Tia Dixon, Dracy Brannigan and Louise Stepp, “Thank You for all your HELP.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amedisys hospice, 220 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 105, Columbia, SC 29210.
