Obituary of Christian Paquette
SPC James Christian Paquette, 40, of Fort Wainwright, Alaska, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011. A memorial service celebrating Christian’s life will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with internment to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Christian was born June 21, 1971, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, to James Paquette and Susan Paquette. He graduated Irmo High School, Class of 1989, and was a 2005 graduate of Midlands Technical College. Upon graduation from MTC, Christian worked as a licensed electrician.
Christian’s true passion lay in serving his country. He entered the South Carolina Army National Guard in 2006 and served one tour in Afghanistan. Upon his return, Christian transferred into full-time service in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Wainwright as a wheeled vehicle mechanic assigned to C Company, 123rd Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Company.
Left to cherish his memory are his family, consisting of his beloved wife of 10 years, Jami Morgan Paquette, and two young sons, Alexander David Paquette and Spencer Christian Paquette. He has touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Christian proudly and gladly served his country in order to insure for his family the freedoms and protection for which our great country is known. We owe him our debt and gratitude for his sacrifice of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
