Obituary of Earl T. Nichols, Jr.
ELGIN – Funeral services for Earl Troylambert Nichols, Jr., 74, will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Blaney Baptist Church with burial to follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jacob Helsley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, MSA Hospice, or The Scottish Rite.
Mr. Nichols passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. Born in Long Branch, N.J., he was a son of the late Earl T. Nichols, Sr. and Dottie Parker Nichols Lingrel. Mr. Nichols served in the U.S. Army which included a tour in Vietnam. He was a decorated member of Masonic Lodge 411, where he was a 33 degree Mason, a member of the Scottish and York Rite, and was the current District Deputy for the 24th District. He was also a member of Blaney Baptist Church where he served as the Sound Check Man. He enjoyed woodworking and HAM Radio.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Linda Dianne Boykin Nichols; daughter, Terry F. Dearth (Coleman) of Elgin; granddaughters, Halei, Christa, and Anna Fiedor; brothers-in-law, John Hammock, Greg Boykin; and the father of the grandchildren, Erik Fiedor. Mr. Nichols was predeceased by a sister, Judy Hammock; and a brother-in-law, Phil Boykin.
