Hello all. I never met your uncle Wallace Kershner but feel I know him from his service during World War Two. It pains me that I never had the opportunity to talk to him about his exploits over and in Germany during the war. He was shot down over France on December 1, 1943 and was captured by the German army which occupied France at that time. He nad five others from his crew were captured and spent the remainder of the war in a POW camp. My father and three others on that B-17 escaped through the assistance of the French Resistance to Switzerland. I would enjoy learning more details about his story for my upcoming book about my father and the war. Please track me down in Pottsville Pennsylvania. mthomasmajor@gmail.com or find me on Facebook. Thank you.

To the family of Wally Kershner,
Frank and I were neighbors of Bonnie and Wally since 1964! We lived 2 doors down from them at 807. We visited with each other frequently through the neighborhood with Ed and Dot Satko, George and Jean Tsirigotis! And so many other Dupont people,,Edgewood was full of them! Frank and Wally were gardeners also and traded seeds. I played often with Bonnie in bridge clubs! I have missed this time of my life with these dear and wonderful people who helped us settle in as new “ yankee” young couple with young kids! Our son would run down to Wally and show him new bugs he picked up! It was a good time. Again please express our sympathy on Wally passing . We were so glad that God put these people in our lives! Frank and Maryellen Pfohl

Wally and Bonnie were very close friends with our parents. Our family is sad to read of Wally’s passing, but know he is rejoicing in Heaven with Bonnie and his friends.
Please know we are thinking of you all as you prepare for his homecoming service. We loved Wally.
The family of Peggy and Gene Griggs
