Obituary of Wallace L. Kershner
CAMDEN – It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wallace L. Kershner (Camden, South Carolina), born October 17, 1924 in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia. He passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2021, at the age of 96.
He served in World War II as a member of a B-17 flight crew and subsequently spent eighteen months in a Germany POW camp. Wallace worked as a supervisor at DuPont in Camden prior to his retirement. He loved to hunt and fish, and was an avid gardener.
He is predeceased by his wife Yvonne (Bonnie) Sayers Kershner; and brothers, John Kershner and Robert Kershner. He is survived by his brother, Harold Kershner; sister, Janice Kershner King; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
