Obituary of Vena Mae Williams
CAMDEN – A private service to celebrate the life of Vena Mae Williams, 90, will be held on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Hermitage Baptist Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Theil-Meyer Pet Adoption Center.
Mrs. Williams, wife of the late William Thomas Williams, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Callie Elizabeth Hall Baker. She was a loving wife, mother and nana. Her life was one of giving and caring for others as she faithfully served Kershaw County as a nurse for over 40 years. She retired from Kershaw County Memorial Hospital where she was the Director of ICU. Mrs. Williams was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning her delicious fig preserves, and caring for her many beloved dogs and cats through the years. Those who knew her will never forget her kindness, compassion and love of life.
Surviving are her sons, Tim Williams (Toni) of Aledo, Texas, Mark Williams (Theresa) of Ridgeway, Trent Williams (Deanne) of Camden, and Russ Williams of Camden; brother, Jimmy Baker (Jackie) of Kershaw; 6 grandchildren, Hannah Williams, Matthew Williams, Katherine Williams, Paul David Williams, Colt Williams and Samantha Mills; 4 great-grandchildren, Sady Williams, Witt Williams, Ryder Williams and Decker Williams. She was predeceased by her sister, Tizzie Snipes; and brother, Clinton Baker.
