Obituary of James Hall, Jr.
LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of James Hall, Jr., 78, will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Derrick Proctor will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 2, 2023 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kershaw County Recreation Department Youth Program.
Mr. Hall passed away at home on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late James Clarence Hall, Sr. and Margaret Brown Hall. He worked for DuPont for over 20 years and owned and operated Hall’s Restaurant for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Clemson Tiger fan.
Mr. Hall’s passion in life was BALL! He managed the West Wateree District for the Kershaw County Recreation Department for over 20 years. He coached dixie youth and girls softball. Mr. Hall started the Sugar and Spice Traveling Softball Team.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Linda Catherine Powers Hall; children, Donna Carol McCall (Chuck) of Kershaw, David Shannon Hall (Cindy) of Lugoff and Dwayne Thomas Hall (Dona) of Lugoff; brothers, Benny Hall (Irene) of Camden, Ronnie Hall of Camden and Bobby Hall of Lugoff; sister, Linda Hall Ellis of Camden; grandchildren, Clint Evergetis, Hope Hall, Amber Hall, Graham Farmer and Logan McCall; and great-grandchildren, Eason Sharpe, Ella Kelley, Sutton Kelley, Carter Samuel and Cas Evergetis. He was predeceased by a brother, Billy Hall; and sister, Peggy Small.
