LUGOFF- A celebration of life service for Ruben Harlan Jay, Jr, 67, will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Foundation. Mr. Jay passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Born in Newton, MS, he was a son of the late Ruben Harlan and Genevieve Galloway Jay, Sr. Mr. Jay enjoyed golfing, gardening and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Millie Jay; sons, Tommy Jay (Ashley) of Gaston, Eric Jay (Brooke) of Elgin; daughters, Amanda Burchett (Mel) of Dunedin, FL, Lena Davis (Aaron) of Lugoff; sister, Patricia Belk (Leroy); brothers, Ricky Jay (Minerva), Bill Jay (Pam), and Randy Jay (Debbie); 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
